Hartwell & Associates
Hartwell & Associates needed a website that reflected two decades of distinguished legal practice. The design had to feel like stepping into a partner's mahogany office — warm, authoritative, and unmistakably premium. We chose a classic editorial approach inspired by The New Yorker, with warm cream backgrounds, burgundy accents, and typography that commands respect.

Neoclassical authority
The full-bleed hero sets the tone immediately — a neoclassical courthouse facade with cinematic gradients, gold accents, and serif typography that whispers old-money sophistication. The headline "Trusted Counsel for Complex Matters" anchors the brand promise before the visitor even scrolls. Dual CTAs guide prospects toward consultation or exploration.
Editorial precision
Instead of generic cards, we designed an editorial stacked list — numbered practice areas with hover states that reveal "Learn more" prompts. A sticky heading on the left anchors context while the list scrolls on the right. Each area pairs a serif title with a concise description, giving prospects exactly the information they need to self-qualify.

A legacy of distinction
The about section pairs a warm office photograph with the firm's story, grounding the brand in tangible credibility. Below, three statistics — 20+ years, 500+ cases, 98% retention — deliver proof without fluff. The values strip (Integrity, Diligence, Results) uses gold diamond separators for an understated, premium feel.

Asymmetric elegance
Attorney profiles use an asymmetric layout — the founding partner gets a featured, large-format card on the left with a gold-bordered initial circle, while associates stack vertically on the right. Each profile includes credentials, specialties, and clerkship history. The initials-based design system eliminates the need for headshots while maintaining visual hierarchy.

Converting with confidence
The contact section sits on a dark charcoal background, creating visual separation and gravitas. The left side presents firm details — address, phone, hours — while the right houses a structured intake form with practice area selection. The confidentiality disclaimer reinforces professionalism. Every element is designed to lower friction and build trust.
